Embedded Software Engineer — Willowbrook, IL

Reporting to the Manager of Hardware and Software Development, this position will manage our products from concept to production. Your toolkit should contain solid history in driving the full lifecycle development process including analog and circuitry design, firmware development in C language, hardware testing of 8- and 32-bit systems, CE testing, and debugging hardware utilizing test equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support hardware digital, analog, and communications protocols
  • Develop and support system-level and driver-level software
  • Create/maintain HW/SW design standards
  • Investigate/troubleshoot hardware failures for service returns and production failures that pass our existing fixtures
  • Create hardware test plans as required
  • Perform hardware analysis and create reports for feedback of hardware issues to new designs
  • Create software/test software as necessary for hardware validation
  • Generate engineering documents, specifications, schematics, BOM, validation reports, etc.
  • Work closely with quality and manufacturing departments
  • Follow established procedures and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in design, analysis, and testing of microcontroller-operated digital and analog electronics
  • Minimum education: BS electrical engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in a product development role in embedded system design and C+/C++ programming environment
  • Basic experience in PCB design, fabrication, and assembly processes a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of developing embedded software for embedded processors, such as ARM, PIC, Freescale, and Renesas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prefer experience in developing for industrial and/or automotive testing equipment
  • Prefer experience with regulating agencies, such as FCC, CE, UL, etc.

Global Human Resources Manager — Willowbrook, IL

Reporting to the CEO, the Global Human Resources Manager is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing international human resources programs and policies, including recruitment, compensation, visa/green card processing, performance management, and employee relations. This individual is responsible for HR strategic planning, including consultation with business leaders to align goals, provide the company with exceptional talent, and position the organization for significant future growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees by being a good listener and effective problem-solver
  • Lead a highly effective recruitment program in the U.S., Europe, and China offices

Monitoring Sales Manager — U.S.

This position will develop and manage sales channels for the Midtronics CellGuard battery monitoring line into data center and other critical power applications. This channel will also be targeted to sell Midtronics data management products (Celltraq Enterprise Asset Management & BatteryNet/FacilityWare SaaS offerings).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and implementing all sales & marketing strategies related to the development of an effective channel to achieve our sales goals
  • As this channel is the prime target for our data management offering - the position will also be responsible for the development of direct business for the BatteryNet/FacilityWare SaaS
  • Work with the Product & Services Support Manager to drive our installation and commissioning business and ensure that product development needs are met
  • Travel 50% minimum to the targeted areas to systematically establish and support a national channel
  • Work with the Director of Sales and Regional Managers to outline effective, on-going, support programs for the channel
  • Outline and attend appropriate trade shows and industry events in support of our channel
  • Provide timely and accurate sales status reports to management
  • Assist the marketing department and participate in marketing meetings to help outline and implement regional promotional, advertising, trade show, and public relations needs and plans

R&D Engineer — Willowbrook, IL

Reporting to the Senior R&D Engineer, this position is responsible for taking new product designs from concept to deliverable with the capability to both debug and apply new features to existing products and provide results within designated project timelines. Must maintain knowledge in all aspects of design phases including: conceptualization, new methods research, hardware design, software design, documentation, production interfacing, and final product support.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine software applications to ensure viability of design within time and cost guidelines
  • Develop, enhance, and test software code to implement predetermined product functions using C and assembly languages
  • Test software in conjunction with hardware to determine operation and performance of overall product
  • Analyze and recommend system design strategies and technical development
  • Read and analyze sketches and schematic drawings with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Adhere to Midtronics quality and new product development procedures
  • Function independently and with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Knowledge of digital logic, memory, and signal processing required
  • Ability to perform timing analysis on embedded systems
  • Knowledge of Embedded C preferred
  • Ability to debug on the PC level, processor level, and hardware level
  • Proficient with common electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers preferred
  • Possess a working knowledge of all MS Office programs and MS Visio
  • Ability to read and interpret standard electrical schematics
  • Skilled in time management and managing individual output

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, this position will develop, manage, and lead the engineering team in The Netherlands and create innovative solutions, products, and services to ensure that customers are successful in battery management.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in engineering in a product development role, specifically in designing microprocessor-based hardware/software embedded systems
  • 3–5 years experience in engineering leadership in a product development role
  • MTS/HTS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Proven management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to design hardware, write software
  • Fluent in Dutch and English in both speaking and writing
  • Additional language skills (German, French, Spanish, Italian) a plus
  • Requires a strong business sense; must be able to understand our customers and the opportunities to effectively drive engineering strategy and solution development

OEM Product Manager — Houten, The Netherlands

This position will have product management and marketing responsibility for business segments in the European market, including full product line ownership and responsibility for achieving sales and profit growth initiatives.

  • Work with account managers and customers to define and manage successful custom product development projects from start to finish
  • Visit customers with sales in the definition and qualifying stage
